Opening of the anniversary year
REDOG kicks off its jubilee on the occasion of the fair "Hund 2011"
REDOG opened its 40th anniversary year on the occasion of the fair «Hund 2011» in Winterthur/Switzerland in presenting a demonstration by rubble search dog teams. In collaboration with the fire department, civil defence and the ambulance service of the City of Winterthur, as well as the helicopter rescue service REGA, REDOG illustrated the synergies between these rescue organisations and amazed the public with the dogs’ infallible nose. The rescue dog teams were flown on site by a REGA helicopter.
One of the victims to be rescued was the well-known TV-moderator Monika Fasnacht. Being a dog owner herself, she got caught by the passion of the REDOG members and accepted to be one of the victims. She will continue acting as an ambassador for REDOG’s jubilee.
At the end of the demonstrations, REDOG’s President, Jeremias Janki, and the President of the organisation committee and renowned politician, Pius Segmüller, officially opened the anniversary year by welcoming a host of representatives of REDOG’s partner organisations and sponsors and by thanking them for their generous support.
