Official launch of the partnership REDOG and GEA

On the weekend of August 29, 2014 REDOG and GEA have officially sealed the launch of their partnership in Izmir, Turkey.

Last year already, REDOG and GEA had met in Istanbul to discuss initial ideas for a closer and more efficient cooperation. This was followed by the more detailed elaboration, particularly in the area of joint deployments.

At the recent meeting in August 2014 in Turkey, the completed agreement between REDOG and GEA was available for signing. With this step, the partnership between the Turkish rescue organization and REDOG is official and regulates future common deployments in detail.

"For us, this collaboration is a great opportunity," said Romaine Kuonen, President of REDOG. "With GEA, we have a dedicated partner with a wide experience in deployments, but are linked also by friendship and a great deal of idealism. We will prepare our joint deployment missions by organising regular exercises."

The 3-day camp was attended by a total of 140 people from different regions in Turkey. In addition to theoretical training, real life situations were simulated and trained on the occasion of a large-scale rescue exercise.
